Since 2018 we have been creating natural and botanical soaps as West Dorset Soap. Our goal is to create products that are eco friendly, handcrafted, artisan and both palm oil and animal fat free.

All of our soaps are all made in small batches ensuring every bar is individual, with distinctive characteristics. They are created using a cold process recipe; rich oils and nourishing butters are combined, natural colourants, inclusions, and essentials oils are added to create a luxurious nourishing bar of soap. Each bar of soap is then left to cure for sometimes up to four weeks before they are ready for use. Where possible we try to use locally sourced ingredients, our lavender soap contains lavender from our garden.

Our soap bars are vegan and are made using fine oils, botanicals and butters, we only every use natural colourants and pure essential oils.

All our soap bars are wrapped in a compostable seeded paper label, the seeds include, ChrysanthemumGoldenBall, Gypsophila Elegans, Antirrhinum Rainbow mix, Iberis Umbellata mixed, Lobularia Snowcloth, Ageratum Blue mink, Petunia mixed, Godetia Azalea doubllemixed and Dorotheanthus.

In 2019 we created a new line of miniature soap blocks available individually and as a set, these have been especially popular as gifts, wedding favours and as guest soaps. 

Continuing into 2020, we had a rebrand and took the umbrella West Dorset Apothecary, this meant we could widen our range of products and include our new lines of vegan solid balms and hair and beard oils.
